The NCVPS Super Student Award is for students who have gone above and beyond the course requirements and as a result have enriched the content, class dynamic, their own learning, their classmates’ learning, and even their teacher’s learning.
“Evan was such a fabulous student. He always took the time to review feedback, ask questions, and reach out. He tried really hard, and if he wasn’t successful, he reached out or reviewed feedback and resubmitted until he got it right. He never gave up, and he reflected on how he not only enjoyed the course, but how he learned so much that he could apply to his current writing skills. He was an absolute model student and joy to have in the course!” –Kayla Cliffe, NCVPS MS Creative Writing Instructor
“I loved my experience at NCVPS because it provided a safe environment for learning. I loved that I could meet other people from other schools who liked the same books and types of writing I do. NCVPS helped me sharpen my skills and prepare for the real world. ” –Evan M.
Advice for Online Students
Take classes you’re genuinely interested in is helpful. I really care about both of the subjects I’ve taken online (they’re my two favorites), which has helped me stay motivated and see the importance of the classes.
I spend a lot of my time online on Twitter. It’s a good place to find funny, lighthearted posts as well as serious, informative ones regarding current events (as long as they come from reliable sources)! Also, I always see a diverse range of people with varying interests and perspectives on there.
The Future Evan
My future plans is to be a writer and make interesting books for children all around the globe. I intend to go to a rigorous college where I am challenged and unlock my full potential as a contributor to society.
Something quite random is I like the color orange so much, all I would eat when I was two was orange food. (Remarkably, you can have a balanced diet only eating orange food.)
My favorite book is The Order of the Phoenix, by J.K Rowling. Harry Potter has always fascinated me and inspired me to write.
My favorite song is Prince’s 1999.
A great TV show I watch is ABC’s Speechless.
