The NCVPS Super Student Award is for students who have gone above and beyond the course requirements and as a result have enriched the content, class dynamic, their own learning, their classmates’ learning, and even their teacher’s learning.
“My experience with NCVPS has been wonderful. It allowed me to work at my own pace and get help if I needed it easily. Taking courses through NCVPS has advanced my education because it allowed me to take the same advanced courses that I would take at a public school without actually going to one.” –Nicholas H.
“Nicholas was one of my star students for Fall. As a homebound student dealing with health issues, Nicholas could have put school last or done much less and it would have been understandable. Instead, even though he had to work around treatments in which he would fall behind and then have to catch up, Nicholas still managed to complete everything in the course, on time, with a 96! He was always pleasant and positive, and did amazing work!” –Susan Hudgins, NCVPS Honors English Instructor
Advice for Online Students
My advice to other students would be to not get stressed out if you do not understand something. The teachers in NCVPS are very helpful, and you can also get great help through the peer tutoring center.
One of my favorite internet sites is Youtube where I watch daily vloggers who film their everyday lives. Roman Atwood is a very interesting YouTuber who will raise your spirits and always reminds you to smile.
Gadgets and Things
I have always been very into technology and love Apple products such as Macbooks, iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches.
The Future Nicholas
My future plans in the next ten years are to have successfully finished college and to start a career in finance or medicine. I would also like to travel more.
I have a 200-gallon tank with beautiful and colorful African Cichlids.
One of my favorite books is 1984 by George Orwell. I prefer ebooks because it easily saves your page where a bookmark may fall out of a regular book.
Shape of You by Ed Sheeran.
My family on my Dad’s side is originally from Germany so we visit every so often and it is very fun.
My goals this year is to get good grades as I did last semester and to impress my teachers by working very hard to complete all assignments.
