The NCVPS Super Student Award is for students who have gone above and beyond the course requirements and as a result have enriched the content, class dynamic, their own learning, their classmates’ learning, and even their teacher’s learning.
“I want to go into the Peace Corps as a doctor, then in Doctors Without Borders or some other related program where I can help those without much access to health care. I also want to backpack around Europe and drive across the United States again.” –Katie C.
“Katie has impressed me all year with her excellent work ethic and quality of assignments. She is never late with work and has managed to juggle the IB program, AP classes, and extracurricular activities, which is really impressive. The work she turns in is always complete and of the highest level. Katie is a joy to have in class!” –Margo Melton, NCVPS AP Environmental Science Teacher
Advice for Online Students
My advice would be to stay on top of your work. Finish it before the day that it is due.
I actually don’t have a favorite internet site, for the only time I am online is for NCVPS or some IB thing.
Gadgets and Things
My favorite would be the iPhone, for it is basically a mini-computer that you can take with you. I also like the GPS for it very useful and convenient.
Katie’s Semester Goals
My goal was to get an “A” in IB Chemistry.
I drove to Alaska and back this summer – it took 2 months.
I like the Eragon Series and prefer printed books.
My favorite music group is Imagine Dragons.
My favorite movie is The Last Samurai.
I lived in Africa for two years when I was 6-8 years old. I have lived in three states and have been to 40 of them, for I have driven across the country 3 times (California coast to North Carolina coast) excluding my Alaska trip. I also play ultimate frisbee!
“I had a great experience. My teacher was always helpful in explaining directions that I did not understand, the gizmos were effective, and I learned a lot about my time management.”–Katie C.
