The NCVPS Super Student Award is for students who have gone above and beyond the course requirements and as a result have enriched the content, class dynamic, their own learning, their classmates’ learning, and even their teacher’s learning.
“I took Russian I online with Mr. Bouchev, and Ms. Luyba Stevens was my language coach. I enjoyed taking the class online because it was very convenient. When I needed help, I was able to get it very quickly, and I did not have to wait in line for teacher’s attention to answer my question like in a face2face school. I also loved how one-to-one the class was. I felt I got lots of personal attention and was not lost in a big class. I was able to move at my own pace and did not have to wait for other students to catch up.” –Larissa
“Larissa deserves a Super Student Award because of her exceptional academic performance in the Russian 1 class! She was always presenting high quality work and consistently submitting her assignments on time. She was diligently attending her Russian Conversation Sessions, where she demonstrated excellent speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Also, Larissa was one of the very few students who was able to maintain the highest possible score for her current grade in the course.” –Roman Bouchev, NCVPS Russian 1 Instructor
Advice to Online Students
Do not be afraid to ask for help. Since this class is not face-to-face, your coach will not know if you are confused or not.
I love YouTube and Khan Academy. If I ever need more help or some sort of explanation, I can find them easily on these sites. They are super easy to access, and you do not have to pay any fees to use them. This makes them really accessible if I need help with math or any subject in school.

In the book, you see how this historical event influenced people to present day. I prefer printed books. I love being able to hold and touch the paper.

My favorite movie is Me Before You. I think it is an amazing film that deals with real world situations.
I love going places. So far I have traveled to Germany, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Ireland, France, and Great Britain. Next summer I will be traveling to Italy. I think traveling is a wonderful thing because you have the opportunity to experience different cultures and traditions.
