The NCVPS Super Student Award is for students who have gone above and beyond the course requirements and as a result have enriched the content, class dynamic, their own learning, their classmates’ learning, and even their teacher’s learning.
“I hope to attend the College of William and Mary after I graduate from high school. I am not yet sure which major I would like to earn. However, I plan to pursue a career related to mathematics or to the humanities.” –Gracie B.
“Gracie submits outstanding work in AP European History! Her writing shows her commitment to mastering and analyzing complex ideas in history and communicating in a sophisticated, college-level way through her writing! I have used her work many times as exemplars for other students to follow! I look forward to reading her submissions on every assignment!” –Nicki Griffin, NCVPS AP European History Teacher
NCVPS allows me to pursue my interests. I have always been fascinated with history and was very disappointed to learn that my public high school does not offer AP European History on campus. Remembering my positive experiences with online classes in middle school, I decided to take the course through NCVPS. Since the inception of the school year, I have learned a plethora of new historical information in AP Euro. My writing skills have also improved, as the course has required me to complete extensive writing assignments. The flexibility of taking an online course has also advanced my education; completing assignments at home allows me to direct complete focus on the subject material, without ordinary classroom interruptions and distractions. NCVPS has given me the freedom to take control of my education. The ability to choose interesting classes and study independently of the normal school environment makes school work meaningful.
