“In ten years I hope to have attained fluency in the Arabic language and have a career in Eastern studies or international policy. I seek to reform the foreign policy of the United States towards the Middle East through establishing increased tolerance and understanding. I find that language offers a way in which to bridge the chasms between cultures and viewpoints to find a pathway to negotiation. ” –Molly R.
“I’m really so proud of Molly, and I’m glad that I had the opportunity to teach her through the course. From the beginning of the course, Molly has demonstrated excellence and responsibility in learning Arabic. She didn’t miss any of her coaching sessions. And she shows an amazing progress with amazing grades. On top of her great English and her Arabic journey, Molly is currently learning Korean and Russian. ” –Georges Marayati, NCVPS Arabic 1 Teacher
Advice for Online Students
I would say that is essential to uncover a way to focus and engage yourself, as taking an online course can be challenging without access to a face-to-face teaching environment. In addition to finding an environment in which you can focus, I would say reading the announcements can be very helpful. The announcements aid in your ability to keep pace with the course.
In my free time, I definitely spend the majority of my time on YouTube or news station websites. Youtube offers millions of videos and information through which I can find tutorials and entertainment. I enjoy Youtube for the purpose of pronunciation with other languages. The news stations offer me access to daily updates on political, social, and economic conditions of other countries.
In addition to YouTube and news outlets, I spend quite a lot of time on Duolingo- where I am learning Korean and Russian. I find Duolingo to be immensely beneficial in learning the alphabets and keeping my Spanish at an acceptable level.

“Though Arabic is my first online class with NCVPS, I have truly enjoyed the entirety of the course. Upon learning my school did not offer Arabic, I was quite upset as I had participated in the StarTalk Arabic program and fallen in love with the language. Possessing access to the Arabic I course has allowed me to expand my overall ability to write in Arabic and comprehend the intricacies of grammar. In addition to gaining a greater understanding of the Arabic language, the online course has allowed me to expand my knowledge of how online courses function. ” –Molly R.
