The NCVPS Super Student Award is for students who have gone above and beyond the course requirements and as a result have enriched the content, class dynamic, their own learning, their classmates’ learning, and even their teacher’s learning.
“I wanted to be able to take English I as an 8th grader to open up additional offerings once I got to High School.” – Luke H.
“Luke is still in middle school. He is taking a high school English course and excelling in it. What is most impressive is his dedication to his work. Even when he was injured at a sporting event and went to the E.R., he was still wanting to complete his English assignments for the day. He is very responsible and gets his work in on time without being reminded nor encouraged to do so.” – English I Teacher – Nancy Hooper
Luke’s NCVPS Experience: This is the first NCVPS class I’ve taken, and it’s been a great experience. It is allowing me to accelerate my learning opportunities.
Luke’s Online Learning Advice: Complete all of your tasks on time or early.
Luke’s Semester Goals: My goal each year is to maintain straight As in all of my classes. To reach this goal, I keep myself organized and use time management skills to ensure enough time to study and complete my assignments.
Luke’s Future Goals: I would like to be a politician. To reach this goal, I plan to continue to work hard in school, and I have already lined up a House of Representatives member to sponsor me as a page to the NC House next year.
Tidbits on Luke: My parents have instilled in me a love to travel and have toured me all around our nation. This summer, I will complete my goal of visiting the 48 continental United States.
For Fun: I love playing hide-and-seek with my two dogs. My favorite movie is The Patriot because it is about America during the Revolutionary War, and I love learning about my country and the history of the wars. My favorite internet sites are ESPN, Fox News, and YouTube.
