Angela Haynes – NCVirtual’s 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year
NCVirtual is excited to announce its 2022 Teacher of the Year!
This year’s honor goes to Angela Haynes!
Congratulations, Angela!
Angela is a National Board Certified Teacher and serves as the Blended English III Course Lead. She has been teaching for 26 years and has learned that every day is a day to learn something new!
“My mother always told me to find something I loved doing and if I could get paid to do this, all the better. This is how I feel about teaching,” Angela said. “Moving forward, I think if we as an organization continue to remember the heart of our mission, we will continue our success. In the age of standardization, we personalize. This is our heart.”
The NCVirtual Teacher of the Year (TOY) provides a much-needed seat at the table for ongoing, impactful conversations about virtual education. The NCVirtual TOY takes an active role in advocating for virtual learning and promoting the best online teaching practices.
The selection process is difficult! We have an extremely talented group of teachers. The Teacher of the Year Award is a great honor, as the whole process begins with peer nominations. We had three other finalists for this year’s award. Help us congratulate them!
