In an effort to support schools as they implement the new Economics and Personal Finance (EPF) graduation requirement, NCVPS offers the following course formats:
- Economics and Personal Finance Honors – Course Code: 43195X0
- Economics and Personal Finance – Course Code: 43192X0
- Economics and Personal Finance CoTeaching – Course Code: 43192X0
All Economics and Personal Finance formats are offered in both Early Start Calendar and Standard Start Calendar, as well as semester and yearlong.
Special Note about Economics and Personal Finance CoTeaching with OCS Students
Please note that the NC State Board of Education did not create separate EPF standards for students on the OCS Pathway. Therefore, NCVPS has adapted the existing Economics and Personal Finance course (43192XO) to integrate co-teaching structures and supports, similar to our Blended/OCS model. This CoTaught EPF course functions much like the Blended/OCS model, where NCVPS provides the EPF certified teacher and the school provides a f2f partner. Â
The teachers collaborate and plan together to ensure student needs are met. The biggest differences are the following:Â
- The school can enroll any students in these CoTaught EPF sections, not just those on the OCS Pathway
- The school can select any f2f teacher to partner, they don’t need to be EC certified unless enrolling students are on the OCS Pathway. Â
The course is listed in NCVPS Registration as: Economics and Personal Finance Co-teaching.  Schools can create a dynamic section of this CoTaught Economics and Personal Finance course using the same process that’s used when creating Blended/OCS sections.
