AnnouncementIf your district or charter school has exhausted its state allotment for NCVPS registration, you may apply to use NCVPS reserve funds or use local monies with our flexible funding option. What’s the difference between the two? Let’s take a look.

NCVPS Reserve Funds

It does not cost your district or charter school to use NCVPS reserve funds. This is a great option for schools that have exhausted their allotted funds. Your enrollments will still count in your allotment totals, and you may see your allotment go up a bit next year. As part of its allotment formula, DPI uses a four-year average of enrollments to determine your allotment projection each year.

Flexible Funding Option

Districts and charter schools may use other funds to pay for NCVPS enrollments. Districts may use local funds, federal funds, special state reserve for children and youth with disabilities, and ADM contingency reserve. Enrollments made with these funds will not be counted toward next year’s projected enrollments.
