“Taking online classes benefited me because I learned how to time manage, hold myself accountable, and practice academic integrity. These skills proved useful in other areas of my life as well.” – Ariel L.
“Ariel is a dedicated French student. She regularly engages with me via text, inbox and gradebook replies. She watches and comments about the feedback that she is given. When I provide an extra resource or video to watch that I made, she watches it and then comments to let me know what she learned. She strives not just to be successful in the course, but also to be successful with furthering her knowledge of French language and culture.” – Ms. Alexa Haselhorst, NCVPS French Instructor
Ariel’s Story
As a student, I try to be present and hardworking because I want to take advantage of the opportunities given to me. It is crucial that I make sure I am putting forth my best effort at all times. As a person, my values shape who I am!
Experience with NCVPS
I decided to take a NCVPS class because it fit best with my schedule and allowed me to work in the way that I wanted to. So far, I have taken Math 3 and French 2 on NCVPS.
Being able to work at my own pace was very pleasing. Sometimes I would get work done for the whole entire week, on Monday.
When taking online classes, the most important thing to do is manage your time and workload. If you have certain times during the day where you can get a lot of work done, utilize it. If your teacher gives you a pacing guide, use that too because it will benefit you. It is also important to ask for help and reach out when you need it. Take your education seriously!
Life Outside of School
I am an active member of the HOSA and Interact Clubs at my school. I love learning about various subjects related to health and participating in service opportunities. At home, I enjoy watching shows, YouTube, and gaming!
One of my favorite shows is Attack on Titan! My favorite snack is chips of any sort! I could not live without food, literally, and because I love it.
Goals & Future Plans
My goal this semester was to be more active at school and in my community. I have participated in more activities in and outside of school which I am proud of, but I still have more work to do!
My future plans definitely include going to college when I graduate. I am not 100% sure about what career I want to pursue but I am sure that I want to be in the healthcare field.
