Meet Olivia H.
“I have immensely enjoyed my experience with NCVPS. Taking an online course allowed me ample time to conduct research through the Brody Honors Medical Research Program. I am grateful for the flexibility offered by the online course and the informative biology lessons and interactive activities.” –Olivia H.
“Olivia always goes above and beyond, especially in her Web 2.0 and Video Assignments! She is a master and dazzles me daily!” –Aimee Durkos, NCVPS AP Biology Teacher
Advice for Online Students
My advice to other online students is to start their work early! Waiting to start assignments and notes a few days before the deadline is stressful and takes away from the learning experience.
The Internet
NPR (National Public Radio) is my favorite way to stay informed on current events and listen to different perspectives. I love the familiar voices of NPR journalists and stories of people from all walks of life.
Gadgets and Things
Laptop computers can be very helpful in completing NCVPS assignments and storing documents!
The Future Olivia
I hope to attend college as a biology major with a microbiology concentration on a pre-medicine track while also studying religion and humanities. From there, I hope to attend medical school and dedicate myself to serving the underserved.
Random Olivia
I love to write – stories, poems, essays, etc.
Favorite Book
My favorite book is Charlie in the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. I prefer printed books and love used bookstores.
Favorite Show
My favorite movie is the Sound of Music.
Olivia’s Family
My mom and I regularly paint our front door different colors for fun. I once spent four weeks on a Student Conservation Association national crew building trails in North New Jersey State Parks.
Olivia’s Goals
My goals for this semester are to gain a better understanding of biology and complete my assignments in accordance with our class’s pacing guide.
