Taking an online course helped me to fulfill one of my academic requirements that was strongly recommended for admission to an extremely competitive university.
The Internet
Some of my favorite internet sites are futurism.com, galaxyzoo.org and Ted.com. They allow me to explore a multitude of topics I am curious about from various sources. I am especially interested in research on planetary bacteria, microbiology, and astrophysics.
Gadgets and Things
My favorite technology gadgets are my iPhone, laptop and telescope.
The Future Simeon
To pursue enrollment in a microbiology program that will eventually lead to the completion of a Ph.D. degree in microbiology. My plans are to continue research in the area of antibiotic resistance testing and cancer research. I am interested in how diseases destroy cells and how human genes mutate. I am interested in discovering new ways of treating antibiotic-resistant bacteria. I hope my research will one day create ways to slow down/eliminate the devastating effects of the most exotic bacteria including cancers.

For Fun: I prefer the outdoors most of the time; I live next to a state forest, so my family hikes a lot. I don’t spend a ridiculous amount of time online outside of school, but I like YouTube and Spotify. I was on the school’s varsity soccer team this year, which lost in the fourth round of playoffs. I also play club soccer. I have six siblings, which could be fun if it weren’t so loud.
