Victor’s Story
I’m one of the quieter students in my class, but I strive to work hard, and I do my best to get my work done earlier than the rest. As an individual, I don’t really have much going for me, again I do what needs to be done and I move on. I feel like what has shaped me over the years has definitely been my friends and family, like most they’ve always been there for me and had my back, and I’ve done the same for them. I think what makes me, me is the fact I joke around a LOT, and also I’m always reckless physically even though I have a bleeding condition.
Online Experience
I took an NCVPS course because I already took most of my 9th-grade classes last year in 8th grade. I have taken Psychology honors only.
I would say taking an online course was easier than having to listen to a teacher in person, but it did hinder my learning experience a bit because I learn better if someone is there to teach. A pleasant surprise about taking online classes has been that my teacher opens the entire module and we can get the work done at our pace, which I would say is a pretty nice touch.
My advice to other online students: Don’t try to do it all at once, you will get tired and sick of the class, so just pace yourself.
Life Outside of School
I usually play video games, soccer, play violin, or exercise. Right now, I’m in an organization called FBLA, which hosts competitions and meetings that I have to go to.
My favorite musician has to be this edm producer called Kamex. The reason being is mostly because my favorite genre of music is edm but also this producer has a certain touch to their songs that makes them calming instead of the usual fast-paced ear-blasting beats. One more thing about them is that they also make work in other genres, and they maintain that cool and calmness to them which is satisfying.
I have family that live all across the world such as the Philippines, Japan, etc. Also, I have a bleeding disorder that has caused me one too many injuries over the years, I can’t even count how many times I have been to the hospital because I was just running around or jumping.
Goals & Future Plans
A goal I had this semester was to win my regional competition for my organization, and I studied over the course of a couple of weeks for this test I had to take.
My future plans right now in the next decade or two is just to graduate high school, and I plan to get a degree or two in biomedical engineering. Right now though the steps I will take is just to maintain my grades and start involving myself into more extracurricular activities to build my resume.
Fun Facts
- I have been across the world 3 times to visit family in the Philippines and Japan.
- My favorite snack right now is probably yogurt or anything to do with fruit.
- If I were to choose one thing I could not live without, it would probably be my clothes.
