NC Virtual News

In our ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance our processes at NCVPS, we have implemented a new, secure feature in our registration system that allows schools to add IEP and 504 accommodations directly into student profiles. Moving forward, this will be the only method that our teachers can use to collect IEP and 504 accommodation data. We will no longer be able to collect IEP and 504 accommodations via the phone.   This new process not only ensures compliance with IEP regulations but also empowers our dedicated teachers to provide the best possible education for our students, tailored to their unique needs.

To help you navigate the new process, we’ve created a how-to video guide: Adding IEP and 504 Accommodations  to Student Accounts. This video provides a walkthrough of the user-friendly IEP feature in our registration system. Be sure to see our Stakeholder Accommodation Guide.

Action Step

If you enrolled students with IEPs or 504s before this new feature was available, we need you to take a moment to revisit their accounts and add the relevant accommodations. It’s crucial that this data is updated promptly to ensure our teachers can deliver lessons that meet each student’s individual needs from day one.  It is especially important that you check all of your Blended (OCS Pathway) course enrollments, as all students in those classes have IEPs.

Our mission at NCVPS is to provide high-quality, dynamic learning to every student. This new functionality is an integral part of that commitment, and we appreciate your partnership in making it a success.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this important update and your continued collaboration. As always, feel free to reach out to us if you need any further assistance or clarification. Together, we can ensure that every child, in every corner of our great state, has the opportunity to thrive.
