“My decision to take an NCVPS class was driven by my desire to expand my academic horizons and immerse myself in the world of computer science. During my freshman year of high school, I relocated from Ohio, where the order and structure of courses differed significantly. Despite my enthusiasm for Computer Science, I missed the opportunity to take AP Computer Science Principles due to the timing of my move. However, I was determined to pursue my passion. Through research and conversations with friends, I discovered NCVPS, which offered a course in Python programming—a language I had been eager to learn, and without hesitation, I enrolled for the spring semester.” -Jagruthi H.

These online courses allow for a consistent learning environment, and I believe that it’s a great step towards pursuing equal access for education to as many people as possible. “Taking Spanish 1 has given me more ownership of my learning, by creating a schedule to get assignments turned in and on time. It also has allowed me to get feedback on assignments from my teacher so I can be more successful.” – Audrey A.

“I took an NCVPS class because when I figured out that it would benefit me in the future, I was thrilled. I also decided to take the class because my Aunt Jennie speaks Spanish and is teaching my cousin how to speak the language so I thought to myself that I should learn it now that my family speaks Spanish. Another reason I took it is because in North Carolina, there are Spanish speaking people, so I thought it might be a good idea to learn how to speak with them so I can meet twice as many people than I have been able to before and communicate with them.”

“Taking online courses advanced my education by providing me the flexibility to understand the content in a similar way as I would have in a regular course while also being asynchronous. The notes are always so meticulous, refined, and cover a wide breadth of information that I am always prepared at the end of the class. This approach has given me more time to complete and study individual assignments and use those class periods in school to do other tasks like talking to counselors or other teachers in a way I wouldn’t have been able to before due to online learning.” – Owais K.

At my school, the highest level Spanish course is Spanish 3, but I was placed into Spanish 4, so I could only take it online through NCVPS. NCVPS allowed me the chance to advance my learning in a world language.
